Beginning in October, the Prescott Valley Public Library (7401 E. Civic Circle Dr.) will host free civics classes for those applying for U.S. citizenship. Starting on October 2nd the class will meet every Tuesday from 6-7:30 PM in the library’s 2nd floor PC Lab. Classes will end in 10 weeks on December 4th. Registration is required. Classes will be conducted every Tuesday, from 6-7:30 pm in the Children's Program Room and all who need language practice in an informal setting are encouraged to participate. You will have plenty of opportunities to learn new vocabulary, practice conversational skills, and build confidence in language usage through fun and interactive activities. Lesley Alward, Master Gardener since 2005. Lesley is retired and volunteering is her passion: giving talks about landscape design, native plants, creating habitat and saving our precious water. Lesley will be giving a presentation at the Prescott Valley Public Library, October 2nd on the subject of Xeriscaping. How to best eliminate or reduce the need for supplemental watering in our home gardens. We will learn about the concept of xeriscape, plant selection, effective watering techniques and tips for your garden to thrive.
